Dual ON/OFF controller board for 5V-24V RS-485 sensors and 5V low current signal control
Hello,
I'm sharing a very simple, yet useful board designed to be used in a Sensor system, with low power requirements (as main system uses Solar Panels) to enable actual ON/OFF of devices that don't need to be always ON, but there is no option in the main controller to turn them OFF.
The system has been working with several different types of MODBUS sensors (that's why the RS-485 port) for a couple of years now, controlled by an ATMEGA2560 based custom board.
Some Considerations:
- FQP30N06L MOSFET Controlled ON/OFF allows zero current gate control with 5V logic, up to 60V device supply.
- LED indicator for ON status for each sensor
- KF128 connection ports for sensors
- 2510 3 pin male connectors for the control board (due to connection standards on control board)
Note: On the sensor connectors, the pin "12" refer to the sensor VCC, that is the most used voltage for the RS-485 sensors we use so it remained as 12 for simplicity, but it will be any voltage that you polarize with on the top source "12V" pin.
