990544768 Rev A - Metal Core PCB Review

This was our company's first time using a metal core PCB. We had been having problems with drawing heat away from high current FET chips with traditional FR-4. When placing a previous order with PCBWay, I noticed the option of metal core PCB, which is a two layer PCB built around an aluminum core as opposed to the traditional fiberglass FR-4 core. In testing, we found that this small 2" x 2" board runs 10C-20C colder than an identical board made of traditional, high temperature FR-4 material. This will prove very useful for us going forward and we will strongly consider using this in future high temperature projects as it has shown to be well worth the money when trying to control heat. The quality of the board itself is also great, the same as the traditional boards that we get from PCBWay.
