Formula Technion - Dashboard PCB
“Formula Technion” is a student project concentrated on planning and producing a Formula SAE race car and participating in international competitions against some of the best universities across the globe. In the Mechatronics Crew, we design and produce a water-sealed dashboard, that includes indicators such as RPM, gear, engine temperature, oil pressure, and button for ignition, starter, emergency and more. In order to achieve these features, we designed a 2-layer PCB and manufactured it PCBWay (www.3pcb.com) at a very convenient cost and very fast delivery. Step 1: About Technion Formula Student Team
Background:
Three and a half years ago, a group of students from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, gathered to discuss the idea of building a race car. A group of 25 students managed to convince the institute to accept the project. Just ten months later, the car was brought to a competition in Italy and stunned the judges as they did not expect a “Rookie Car” to finish in the 19th place (out of 55 participants), and 1st place worldwide in the Rookie category (out of over 500 teams). In the second year the level improved and we won the Design award for the prettiest and most improved car from last year!
In the third year of this project our goal was: significant improvements in the weight category, engine and aerodynamics of the car.
We won 3rd place the business presentation and 25th place in the whole competition.
Long term goals:
- Build a tradition with solid economic and marketing stability
- Raising up to the top-ten worldwide
The goals would be achieved by the following ways:
- Cooperation with various companies within the industry
- Improved man power built of highly motivated leading students
- Use of the high abilities of Israel in creativity and innovative technology
