It's a general purpose microcontroller board with some connectivity like ethernet, USB, wifi (esp32). Also have eeprom on board and socket for micro sd card. Due to this many peripheral implemented on board, I design it as 4-layer board. It was actually my first time designing board more than 2 layer, and it's challenging & exciting for me. There's several philosophy with 4 layer stack board, I go with top layer and bottom layer for signal, first inner layer for ground plane, second inner layer for supply power signal. During this time I also explored about the use of buried and blind vias. In pcbway it's implemented using a laser technology, while in other manufactured they're still using press and fit method. Apparently these type of vias are costly, so in the end I conclude my design with just through hole vias only. The manufacturing capability from PCBWay are impressive, I think the result is reliable, as the board is working fine without any issues.
