PID Controller for Raspberry Pi

Out of beta with latest production batch in shiny purple; A Raspberry Pi HAT that adds a PID Controller with system power backup, battery charger, real time clock, and auxiliary quad channel PWM for RGBW lighting or other features. Attachable LCD Touch Screen for graphical interface. Can be used to accurately control various heating elements with a thermocouple.

Step 1: Components

  • Purple PCB - Main control board with SSR and Power management: 4 layer with Ground Plain and Power Plains, 0.3MM non-blind via, Lead free HASL
  • Red PCB - Auxiliary PWM addon (with optional RTC): 2 layers, 0.3MM via, Lead free HASL
  • Black PCB - 18650 Battery Holder and Real Time Clock: 2 layers, 0.3MM via, Lead Free HASL

Step 2: Development and Software Implementation

Over a year of research, designs revisions, tweaks, and development; Ten quality orders of PCB Prototypes thanks to PCBWay!  Purple anti-solder mask a great choice for this order.

Interface and control system built using Open Source Software, soon to be published and freely available.
