Wireless IOT Prototypes
Works exactly as designed! But honestly, we have made errors in our designs that have taken a few orders to get correct. That is why it is so important for us that the price for prototyping is very affordable. We have found PCBWay to have the most competitive pricing and flexibility for development of prototype boards. Some of the other vendors claim a low price but once you put in your design in the quote system the price goes sky high! With PCBWay we have gotten boards and assembly for 5 or 10 pieces at the price of a 200 qty order per board. Very nice! The trick is to keep your part counts below the threshold for your number of boards. At some point where your number of unique, total, and through hole parts gets too high you exceed the prototype $30 assembly offer. If you exceed the offer with 20 pieces try 15 or 10 to keep it within limits. PCBWay doesn’t make you buy their design software, or lock down their parts distributors so you can’t make boards without expensive software tools. They are an open source supportive vendor. Great for the new start business making custom designs. We hope to get into production soon and experience the same great service and prices. Elena really helps out to keep everything moving and getting it right with the engineers. While design and assembly is very complex in reality, PCBWay makes it very simple. If you do not understand all you have to do is ask. We are very happy with the PCBWay experience and recommend to others. If you are new to making custom boards roll up your sleeves and get started. You will hit some snags but PCBWay will get you through! It would be nice if any production stopping engineering questions were flagged with the issue. We had missed an email but did not realize it. We checked production status and it stayed at 50% for a few days. Finally we asked Elena and figured out our mistake. If there had been a red flag on Production Status letting us know then we could have saved a few days.
