PCB etching is one of the most important stages of the PCB manufacturing process. During the process, the unwanted photosensitive film is first stripped off. Then, alkaline etchant is used to remove copper that is not protected by tin from the surface of the PCB. Following this, the tin is then stripped off and the board is sent for AOI.
