Add VIAs to an existing design?

Hello,

I am interested in producing the PCB shown here:
https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/Sony_MSX2__128K_RAM_expansion__HB_F1XDJ_and_similar_models_.html

However, the design appears to be incorrect as all the solderpoints should be through-hole. So the question is, can I produce this pcb with vias throughout?

Thank you,

Jorge

Hi Jorge, You are correct. The pictures for kinmami's PCBWay project show the PCB using surface mount pads for the 44256 RAM chips, not through hole pads as the original author does here: http://www.basshp.msxall.com/xv.html. I recommend asking the author of the PCBWay project (kinmami) which RAM chips he supports with his project. Maybe there are newer 44256 surface mount parts or maybe the project photos are incorrect and his project actually has through hole pads. Good luck! kinmami's link: https://www.pcbway.com/project/member/?bmbno=74CA1DF4-D529-4B Cheers, Ed
