Question on Differential Signaling Pull-up/Pull-down Resistors

For an electronics project I have to implement a differential signaling mode for transmitting data. I'm planning on using some sort of differential driver and receiver IC. Now I was wondering if the positive and negative lines need some kind of pull resistors. If so, do they need to be both connected to one potential or to different potentials?

I recommend checking the datasheet of the specific transceiver or driver IC that you plan on using. The attached image shows a termination resistor for a differential signal & this may be what is called for instead of a pull-up or pull-down. Note that this is not tied to one potential or another, but across the differential lines.
