I want to add metric M3 threaded inserts to my 1.5 mm mild steel metal sheet design, and i need the insert to be fairly flush with the metal sheet surface while protruding on the other side by no more than 4 millimeters. Do i need to adjust the hole size in my design accordingly? If so, what hole size should i specify to accomodate the inserts? What should i specify in the attachment to highlight these requirements?
