I first wired point-to-point and wanted to make a PCB. My last board I made was around 1982 and I used tape and dots and graphic arts film - never masked or silkscreened! In 3 days I learned to use KiCad and got a board finished. I saw PCBWay on IMSAI-GUY and gave it a try with perfect results. Any errors are my fault; DRC showed no errors or warnings but I had to make a couple footprints. The project is an audio moving coil phone head preamp using LSK170B JFets. A basic design with current source followers to drive a cable. The boards turned out great! I haven't added parts yet but they look great and I didn't see any flaws under a magnifying glass. It is very nice to have solder mask and silk screening. I didn't have any need to communicate with PCBWay. The files were zipped and transferred. Once accepted, payment was made and a few days later the boards were received. For finish, I just used the HASL Lead which seems fine and should be easy to solder to.
