PCBs, or printed circuit boards, are pieces of hardware that contain electrical components such as transistors, capacitors, resistors and etched wiring. PCBs can be found in several electronic devices such as computers, radios, VCRs, DVD players, gaming consoles and televisions. Most are prefabricated in mass production and bought in bulk by electronics manufacturers. If you design a PCB of your own and do not wish to mount it using an epoxy adhesive, you can drill holes for screws.
Instructions
1 Place the PCB over the area you wish to mount it on. Mark the locations where the screw holes are to align to the electronic device with a fine point marker.
2 Place the PCB on a workbench over an anti-static pad and press the sharpened tip of a 1mm drill bit into the marker points to create a small indentation in the PCB.
3 Hold the PCB down with one hand covered in an anti-static glove. Drill holes in the pre-scored areas of the PCB with a 1mm bit. Do not apply downward pressure, allow the weight of the drill to bore the holes.
4 Dust off the drill dust from the PCB using a compressed air can. Then align it to the device in which it is to be mounted to ensure the holes line up correctly.
