PlainDAQ is a module, it can turn your Raspberry Pi Pico into a simple and precision 4-channel oscilloscope and single-channel function generator. It also has a Wi-Fi module that can add wireless capability to the Raspberry Pi Pico if you want.
PlainDAQ adds basic simulation capabilities to your Raspberry Pi Pico board. It features a precision, low noise, low drift 12-bit 500Ksps/s ADC that samples 4 channels and supports 3 ranges (±1V, ± 2V, ± 4V). In addition, it includes a 10-bit DAC that helps create analog outputs and waveforms with a single range of ±4V.
PlainDAQ has a wide range of industrial applications, including remote data logging and control. With open-source Python scripts and firmware, you can configure PlainDAQ at will.
PlainDAQ' s ability to generate and capture waveforms can help students and enthusiasts understand the circuits they are building.
It is sometimes difficult to understand the frequency-related aspects of analog electronic devices : frequency response, step response, filter, etc. Therefore, the author designs I2C controllable low-pass and high-pass filters that can directly obtain power from PlainDAQ. Their cutoff frequencies can be set separately, and they can also be cascaded to form band-pass and band-stop filters. By measuring their frequency response and changing their cut-off frequency, you can observe their response and better understand these concepts.
