Test and debug for PowerPC boards

by: Dec 06,2013 662 Views 0 Comments Posted in Engineering Technical

International Test Technologies has introduced the µMaster 4032 board-level test and debug product, which supports any board that carries a CPU based on the IBM PowerPC 4xx core family, including the PowerPC 405 and 440 CPUs from AMCC and Xilinx.

Like the rest of the µMaster lineup, the µMaster 4032 targets debug operations at prototype, manufacturing, and field-return stages. The µMaster interface includes the low-level tools required by engineers during prototype debug as well as a guided fault isolation (GFI) mode for less-skilled operators in manufacturing and repair environments, differentiating µMaster from development-only emulators. The GFI mode displays a block diagram of the board; it identifies failing devices and provides repair guidance.

µMaster primarily uses CPU-emulation test techniques, but it can also run boundary-scan Serial Vector Format (SVF) files. It includes an automatic test generator as well as fault-logging, failure-analysis and high-speed flash-programming capabilities.
