HARTING, the global pace-setter in industrial and device connectivity, is front and center at EDS once again, announcing its annual distributor awards and rolling out new, leading edge products for PCB design and Ethernet switching. “EDS is a critical show for HARTING,” says Jon DeSouza, President and CEO of HARTING North America. “It’s the one time each year where we can meet with each of our US and Canadian distributors, manufacturer’s representatives, and media partners in one location to discuss our message and strategy.”
Today, the company held its fourth annual EDS Open House where it announced its distributor awards for 2013. Mouser Electronics was honored with the Distinguished Award for Distributor of the Year for achieving significant revenue growth, exceptional commitment to inventory, and for overall excellence as a partner. Digi-Key was named winner of the Distinguished Award for New Product Sales Growth. Digi-Key recorded higher new product sales growth and purchased a larger volume of new products than any other HARTING distributor. Newark Electronics received the Distinguished Award for New Customer Growth, by adding more new HARTING customers than any other distributor.
EDS 2014 is the launch platform for HARTING’s new har-flexicon line of innovative, discrete wire-to-board connectors and terminal blocks. The har-flexicon series, with its fast wire-to-board connection technology, complements the popular in-box har-flex® lineup. Together, they cover the complete spectrum from device connectivity and internal device wiring to cable-to-board and board-to-board connectors. Both make possible greater PCB performance, density and design flexibility while reducing assembly time and expense for a lower all-in PCB unit cost.
Also on display were HARTING’s new state of the art Ethernet switches. HARTING’s Ha-VIS mCon 3000 Next Generation managed switches with integrated PROFINET I/O stack are optimized for fast deployment in the harshest industrial environments to support today’s increasingly sophisticated network structures. These two new models added to the mCon 3000 catalogue are designed for mounting on top-hat rails in control cabinets and for seamless integration into new or existing PROFINET applications. The Ha-VIS eCon lineup of unmanaged switches has been enhanced by an all-new eCon 3000 series as well as a major expansion of the eCon 2000 series. These new unmanaged switches offer cost-effective, energy-efficient, plug & play functionality. They come in compact, space-saving housing designs for optimal space-utilization in the switch cabinet and support Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) and full Gigabit Ethernet.
