Ecological thermostat for expanding rural producers
In many rural regions, many people produce their own food for their livelihood and that of their families. Part of the production comes from raising poultry, such as free-range chicken, for example, in which farmers obtain eggs and meat for their daily meals. But, conditions are not always favorable for production, such as cold weather with winds. Many small producers do not have sheds for raising birds, raising them in small houses, which do not offer the necessary protection for the nests. So, the best way to reproduce them is with the use of artificial incubators. Incubators can be easily built with accessible materials (including Styrofoam, which guarantees better thermal insulation, lower electricity consumption and better thermal stability inside the incubator). They provide the ideal biological conditions for production to reach maximum efficiency and the producer to enjoy better control of his production. The thermostat is the heart of the incubator, as it is responsible for executing all the routines inside the incubator. The thermostat presented makes the temperature control with great efficiency making use of triacs to activate the heating resistance and the microwave motor for the turning of eggs. With the use of triac in the temperature control, it is possible to make a more precise temperature control, bringing more thermal stability inside the incubator, which helps to bring more yield in the hatching process. The thermostat also has the ability to count the incubation days, making the egg turning start and end on the scheduled day, making it easier for the small production capacity producer.
