The Greaseweazle is a well known low-cost solution for working with physical floppy disks, having been created by Keir Fraser (also the creator of the Flash Floppy firmware for Gotek drives). The project you are viewing now isn't that, it's actually just a pretty little faceplate that goes on top of the main project PCB that actually does those things. This is just here to hide a bit of the electronics so that it doesn't look like a bare PCB, meaning you can build your own solution without having it look like you built it at home.

The FA1 faceplate design was put together to look a bit like the old Amiga Action coverdisks, the FA-line of faceplates does not have a cutout for the Amstrad connector as that will not be needed in most cases.
