Description

MCP23017 16 bit GPIO Expander Demo Board

The MCP23017 provides 16 GPIO over I2C

Each pin can sink and source current when used as outputs, making it useful for driving hardware like a micro controller GPIO.

This pcb has 8 relays (G5V-2 low signal DPDT https://omronfs.omron.com/en_US/ecb/products/pdf/en-g5v_2.pdf) to test the GPIO output control, 4 buttons to test input control, and 4 GPIO connected to header pins to be used as inputs or outputs from outside the pcb.

The 2 interrupt pins are available on test points, and the relays have their own voltage input pin to keep them separate from the logic supply.
