Robotic Arm
Many task these days is automated with the help of robots.
One of the most used Robot is a Robotic Arm which has many uses and is used in Manufacturing Industry a lot.
I have simplified the basic design which will even help to understand its working to even a 10 year old who has no prior knowledge of robots.
The basic motive is here to improve basic understanding of Robotic Arm and how they can be controlled manually withn the help of potentiometers.
Potentiometer are basic Electrical components which have variable resistance slider which helps in controlling the movement of servo motor with the help of inbuilt function of "MAP" in Arduino libraries.
The code is self explanatory and can be understood by anyone.
Now coming to its connections, Potentiometers are connected to analog pins of the Arduino and the servomotors pins are connected to digital pins of the Arduino.
If we take a look at the code we will understand that as the analog input changes, Arduino directs the servo motor to change its position according to the analog input. I have defined the start degree of servo motors as "Zero", so if the potentiometer is at its base position the servo will be at "zero" degrees and if the potentiometer is at full rotation the servo motor will move towards 180 degrees.
Now coming towards the design we have 4 servos which can be placed such as one servo will be placed in the bottom for X-Y axis movement, Two motors will be placed such as for movement in X-Z plane. We use 2 servo motors for greater amount of movement freedom.
The last servo is placed inside the claw mechanism.
