For EuroRack audio synthesizer modules, vertical audio input jacks are more natural, but they are also large, forcing you to use up precious width in your rack. I used a small sideways-mount jack to keep the overall board size down to 3 hp, or 15mm (under 5/8" )
These units can be mounted side by side, or up and down. The units connect to the underlying PCB using right-angle headers, connecting to female sockets. Spacers or standoffs are needed for the mechanical connect between the top panel and the lower PCB.the
