TvG KDL v4.0 (with Teensy 4.0 and Audio)
This is a breakout board for the new TvG KDL (DIY Kart Data Logger) using the powerful Teensy 4.0.
It has incorporated the following modules:
· HC-05 Bluetooth
· Teensy Audio Adapter (adapted to the new Teensy 4.0)
· A TRRS 3.5mm audio jack
· NRF24L01+
· MPU 6050
· Battery mounting (4xAA or 1x9V)
· 2.25 pin header for the Teensy 4.0 pins
· Pull-up resistors for the I2C bus
This board can be used to test the new Teensy 4.0 board functionality. It will also be used for my TvG KDL project. This is a Kart Data Logging system. It records data from a 125ccm Kart and logs it to the RaceChrono app on a mobile phone. The data is also displayer on a Oled display mounted on the steering wheel. Given the Teensy 4.0 board functionality, now I can use my TvG KDL like a Walkie-Talkie also to be able to comunicate with the pit crew.
Data logged/transmitted:
· Acceleration pedal position
· Brake pedal position
· Steering wheel position
· RPM (from an induction sensor mounted on the lead to the sparkplug)
· Wheel speed (either front wheel or rear wheel)
· Current gear (for shifter karts)
· G-forces
· Lap time (using the magnetic strips in the track)
· Heart rate (BPM)
Basically, I am now building the 4.0 version of my TvG KDL. In the following picture you can see the 3.0 version.
The 4.0 version using the board I am trying to get sponsored will use a Teensy 4.0 instead of the STM32 microcontroller and will have the added functionality of a Walkie-Talkie. This involved major design changes.
Thank you for considering my project and thank you for considering sponsoring me. This way I can build my project as a hobbyist. Thank you PCB Way!
