Children of the Sky

Children of the Sky is an innovative program created by the Mexican team Cyberius, the FRC team of PrepaTec Santa Catarina, a high school located in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon . Launched in 2024, this program gives gifted middle school students the opportunity to explore and learn more about the amazing world of robotics. Children of the Sky is growing rapidly in our community, showing how much potential FRC and robotics has in Nuevo León, if given the opportunity to thrive.

In December of 2024, three team members are going to participate in “Clanes”, an event held and organized in Prepa Tec Santa Catarina, with the intention to inspire students to find comfort and love in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), and to learn and have fun searching for the thing they love most. In this competition, contestants create different robots that need to complete certain challenges.

Children of the Sky has designed, built, and is now programming “Kingfisher”, our robot for the competition. To enhance Kingfisher’s electronics, our team decided to learn PCB design using Fusion360. This ensures that our robot is more organized, smooth, and secure. We are implementing this as a shield for an Arduino MEGA, as well as a controller PCB in which we are usin NR24L modules to transfer the input into robot control.
