Launch: A Flight Computer for Model Rocketry
Meet Launch, a flight computer designed for rocketry. Made by an electronics enthusiast, it has the goal of bringing different aspects of rocketry to the hobby community including TVC propulsive landing. With testing planned for October 2024, it will be rapidly developed and prototyped. It also has the ability to support more projects with different functionality later due to its available I2C ports and extra pinout.
Launch’s processing power comes from 3 ATSAMD21’s that give it the ability to have complex decision making. It includes a GPS, 4 pyros, 3 IMUS, a flash chip, SD card, accelerometer, and a multitude of other features.
With all of these features, its current goal is to power a successful propulsive landing of a model rocket using TVC and other features. It might also power a future mission using a liquid bi-propellant rocket engine.
