Team Aphelion - CanSat
Team Aphelion is a team of 6 high school students from Eric Hamber Secondary in Vancouver, Canada who will be competing in the CanSat Design Challenge. For this competition, students are challenged with constructing a satellite in the shape and size of a regular soda can to gather air pressure and temperature data while performing a secondary mission of their choosing. These satellites are launched in model rockets at the launch campaign. Our secondary mission is to drill a soil sample after landing to test for the presence of amino acids, the building blocks of life. Due to the size constraints of the CanSat, we have elected to make a custom PCB which contains a Teensy 4.0 microcontroller, all required sensors communicating over I2C, MOSFETs for turning on and off devices, and JST connectors for external modules (motors, radio, etc.)
