University of Kentucky Solar Car Battery Inverter
### DESCRIPTION ( Introduce yourserlf and your project)
We are a senior design group in the Electrical Engineering program at the University of Kentucky. We are building an inverter that takes a direct current input from the solar car battery pack and inverts it to an alternating current output to run devices that require an alternating current power signal.
### TECHNICAL DETAILS (With project photos)
The device will take a 80V - 160V direct current input. A DC-DC converter will take the input to a 12V direct current signal. The 12V direct current signal will be inverted to a 120V alternating current signal with a frequency of 60Hz. The input and output voltage and power will be measured and displayed using sensors, a microcontroller, and a LCD display. The users will be able to set a low-voltage cutoff using a selection knob to set a relay.
