Vision Input Module for Formula Student Driverless
The Goal
Goal of this PCB-Project is to establish a new SOM for vision input in the Formula Student Driverless racecar of Starkstrom Augsburg e.V..
Last seasons solution had several issues that need to be fixed. Furthermore an upgrade to a more powerful SOM is performed.
The Project
Schematic
The PCB should contain several interfaces to connect the SOM to
- 2 LVDS-Cameras
- Ethernet with PoE
- CAN
- MicroSD-Card
- DC-Powersupply with wide input range
- USB3.0 for USB-Vision
PCB
LVDS and Gigabit Ethernet require impedance controlled tracks. Therefore the circuitboard has to have 4 layers.
The Team
Starkstrom Augsburg e.V. develops and builds driverless racecars since 2016.
The latest version - UASA 1906-DV - performed outstandingly. The team won the second overall place in the driverless competition of Formula Student EAST in Hungary in the summer of 2019.
Importance of supporters
Without companies' support formula student teams wouldn't exist. The development of those cars requires tremendous amounts of time, money and knowledge. With PCBWay as supporter in PCB manufacturing we would have the opportunity to produce more prototypes on the way to our finally used units. This will help our designers to increase reliability and robustness of the developed components.
