A mini-circuit board is a minature circuit board used in small electronic items such as phones, toys and small computers. Soldering wires and other electrical components to a mini-circuit board can be challenging because most soldering equipment is not built for working with such a small scale. Luckily, soldering pencils are made for use with small circuits. These small pencils can get into even the smallest part of a circuit board to complete the soldering process simply and easily. It only takes a few seconds to solder the connection on any circuit board.
Instructions
1 Use a typewriter eraser to shine the copper metal on the circuit board. Rub the copper with the eraser until it is bright and shiny.
2 Push the wires through the back of the circuit board. Bend the wires around the holes so that they do not fall back through the board. Make sure the wires touch the copper threads on the circuit board.
3 Press the soldering pencil onto the wires and the copper threads. Make sure to touch the lead from the wire and the copper at the same time. Hold in place while you use the soldering iron.
4 Wait two seconds, then touch the lead with the tip of the soldering iron. Keep the soldering iron there until the solder forms a small puddle. The solder should not blister up. If it does, you have used too much.
5 Remove the pencil and the soldering iron at the same time. Wait about five to ten seconds for the solder to cool.
6 Trim any excess lead or wire pieces with the electrician's pliers. Repeat the soldering process for all other wires that you want to thread through the circuit board.
