Last year,2017 PCBWay has launched a new feature page called “ Shared Projects”. It’s mainly for the open source hardware enthusiasts who are willing to share their PCB layouts and electronics projects and also you can make money from this page.
Before we introduce you how to share your projects on our website, there are 3 questions that are common and needed us to answer to.
Q1: “I just want to share my projects but not to buy it, is it acceptable?”
A1: “Yes. The initial purpose of our “Shared Projects” page is to build a communicating platform for open source hardware enthusiasts and makers. You don’t have to pay for your orders when you share your PCB layout.”
Q2: “How can I make money from this page?”
A2: ”When you create an Open Source Hardware project containing a PCB design, you can choose to share it on public so that others can buy it for their own project. Every time people place an order of your board, you will get a 10% commission of the total PCB cost.”
Q3: “Why can’t my PCB layout be read and rendered correctly?”
A3: ”There are two main reasons for read error. One is file suffix error. The other is the lack of essential layer file. Please refer to the following picture which shows the correct file suffix for each layer among Gerber. Anyway, there are other reasons, if you meet the problem which can not be solved by yourself, please contact our technical specialist, Simon. Email: simon@pcbway.com”
