Flexium Interconnect and Zhen Ding PCB Technology have reported sequential increases of 180% and 75.9%, respectively, in net profits for the third quarter of 2013, while Career Technology PCB returned to profitability from losses in the prior quarter.
Flexium's net profits surged to NT$563 million (US$19 million) PCB in the third quarter, hitting the second-highest profit level in the company's history. EPS for the quarter came to NT$2.80.
Along with the profit rise, Flexium's consolidated revenues increased 81.9% sequentially to NT$3.98 billion in the third quarter. Gross margin for the quarter climbed 0.6pp on quarter to 25.1%.
Zhen Ding posted a record NT$1.44 billion in net profits for the third quarter of 2013, while consolidated revenues PCB grew 37.4% on quarter to NT$16.99 billion. Gross margin arrived at 17.81% in the third quarter, up 0.17pp sequentially PCB.
Career Tech swung to net profits of NT$193 million in the third quarter from losses of NT$56 million in the second. The firm collected NT$3.47 billion in third-quarter consolidated revenues, up 42.4% on quarter.
In addition, Flexium, Zhen Ding and Career all saw their October sales soar more than 10% on month, PCB with Flexium and Zhen Ding both generating record-high revenues.
Market watchers expect the three Taiwan-based flexible PCB suppliers, which have entered the supply chain for Apple's new devices, to continue to see strong PCB performances in the fourth quarter.
