The MPU-6000 integrates a comprehensive 6-axis motion processing unit, eliminating issues of axis variance between gyroscope and accelerometer setups, thus reducing packaging space. It combines a 3-axis gyroscope, a 3-axis accelerometer, and includes a Digital Motion Processor (DMP) hardware acceleration engine, allowing connection to other brand accelerometers, magnetometers, or sensors through two I2C ports, outputting complete 9-axis fusion technology to the application end through a single data stream.
InvenSense's motion processing library handles complex motion sensing data, reducing the computational load on operating systems and providing structured APIs for application development.
The MPU-6000's angular rate sensor range spans ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000°/sec (dps), accurately tracking both fast and slow movements. The user programmable accelerometer range is ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g. Data transmission occurs through I2C up to 400kHz or SPI up to 20MHz.
Operating at various voltages, the VDD supply voltage ranges from 2.5V±5%, 3.0V±5%, or 3.3V±5%, while the logic interface VDDIO operates at 1.8V±5%. The MPU-6000's package size is 4x4x0.9mm (QFN), considered revolutionary in the industry. Other features include a built-in temperature sensor and an oscillator with only ±1% variation in operating environments.
