Product Description
I2c expander is specially used to solve the conflict of I2C device addresses. Through the transfer of this expander, multiple devices with the same address connected to the same I2C port of the main control board can communicate and use normally.
One expander has eight I2C interfaces, and is equipped with eight bidirectional changeover switches which can be controlled by I2C bus. This means that after one expander is switched, eight devices with the same address can be connected to the same I2C and used normally. The default address of this extender is 0x70, and the address can be changed. It can be set within 0x70?0x77 according to your needs.
Compatible with IIC bus and system management bus (SMBus), reset input effectively at low level, support hot plug-in, low standby current, no glitch pulse during power-up, and support voltage level conversion among 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V buses.
According to the contents of the programmable control register, any single SCn/SDn channel or channel combination can be selected. In case of timeout or other improper operation, the system master can reset TCA9548A by setting the /RESET input low. Similarly, power-on reset can deselect all channels and initialize the l2C/SMBus state machine. Setting /RESET to active also enables reset and initialization without powering down the components.
There is a turn-on gate on the switch, so that the VCC pin can be used to limit the maximum high voltage through TCA9548A. Limiting the maximum high voltage allows different bus voltages to be used on each channel pair, so that 1.8V, 2.5V or 3.3V components can communicate with 5V components without any additional protection. For each channel, the external pull-up resistor pulls up the bus voltage to the required voltage level. All I/O pins are 5V withstand voltage.
