  • I have some questions...
    1. What are the pins under the HCT14 for? (HS and VS)
    2. What is the single pin marked as "CS" for between pin 9 and 10 of the DB23?
    3. Why are 2 pins of the HCT14 marked with HS and VS?

I'm assuming it's Horizontal and Vertical Sync, but don't understand what can or should be done with them...
Do they need to be bridged if someone wants to build the Adapter without buffering?

1 you can bypass the sync buffering without installing the HCT14, in this case solder jumpers are closed
    2 composite sync
3 to identity test points if the HCT14 is installed

this is an old (and non optimized) version. the latest versions are V6 and V7

  • Hi Kinmami, I just ordered the V2 board with assembly, then noticed about version 4, can I get BOM of the new version, or the added text in the "Description" enough for the PCBWay team to assemble it, thanks in advance

  • Hi Lee, no problem. that`s correct. I manufactured mine like that. I had not any issue. You can go ahead with production.

Does it just mean that they will only put 0.3mm hole in the board on those side pads (connector anchor points)?

    Edoardo kinmami 2021-08-03 15:07:34Reply

It means they do not need to modify anything. the drill size is 4.0mm (outer diameter 5.8mm) and holes perfectly fit the suggested VGA D-Sub15 connector.

No worries. Thanks for the clarification. I look forward to building and testing it out.

Sure. Please use a good quality VGA cable (for example https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Extension-Monitor-Adapter-Projector/dp/B00P0CMKB0 )

  • My first time using this service so forgive my error if this is not the right place to query this.. When I add this project to my cart it comes up with the file name "AMIGA VGS DB23 buffer V3.zip" - Is that correct? Also, feedback I have received from PCBWay is "We found the drill size in your drill layer is not the same as it is in the board outline - can you confirm?" - The hole size shown on the PCB spec is 0.3mm, is that correct?

Hi Lee. There is an unique zipped gerber file. AMIGA VGS DB23 buffer V3.zip is correct. The zip archive does contain the drill file (in inches) as well.

  • Where do you buy the 23 pin Sub-D connector or do you modify a 25 pin one?

    Edoardo kinmami 2021-07-16 07:23:26Reply

I have new old stock of DB23 bought in the US ten years ago. You can adapt the DB25. Recently they are selling DB23 on forums and ebay.
