Forgot to say I use a single 15v supply, and it works fine, and I used a pair of NE5532 op amp

  • Hi ! can you supply a circuit diagram and bill of materials please :-)

  • Hello! Thank you everyone for any advice or improvement! As a power supply I use a transformer with a dual 15V and 7815/7915 stabilizers. I play with an AKAI AP-M600 turntable.

forgot to say I used TL072 op amps from a Mouser.

  • OK, all built up and tested and it sounds great. The resistors are 1/4w 1% metal film, capicitors in the signal path are film types and Nichicon KL, bypass capacitors are ceramic and Nichicon VR for power filtering. As I felt the bypass capacitors C3 and C4 were too far away from the NE5532 opamps, I put an additional 100nf capacitor across the power pins of each opamp on the backside of the board. The 22µf capacitors C5, C7, C10 and C12 have very little DC voltage across them so I used 22µf/35v caps in these positions, the lowest voltage 22uf caps I has on hand. The 10µf capacitors C1 and C2 are across each power rail so a minimum of 10uf/25v should be used, I used 10uf/50v caps I had on hand. This preamp works well with little noise but it does not have any sort of Rumble filtering. This can be an issue in some circumstances. This preamp requires a quiet and ripple-free dual ±15v power supply and is best mounted in a metal enclosure. My original component values list has two errors (*) in the Capacitor list, so here is the corrected list: C1,C2: 10µf. C3,C4: 100nf. C5,C10*: 22µf. C6,C11: 22nf. C7,C12: 22µf. C8,C13*:100nf. C9,C14: 1uf.

  • I figured out the component values, I think. R1,R10: 47k. R2,R11: 2.2k. R3,R12: 4.7k. R4,R13:180k. R5,R14:10k. R6,R15:2.7k. R7,R16:100k. R8,R17:750R. R9,R18:100K. C1,C2:10uf. C3,C4: 100nf(0.100uf). C5,C13:22uf. C6,C11:22nf(0.022uf). C7,C12:22uf. C8,C15:100nf(0.100uf). C9,C14:1uf. U1,U2: NE5532 or OPA234 or LM4562. Hope this helps!
