NodeMCU Pixel Driver
The PixelPop ESP8266 is a popular controller for WS8212 and other addressable LED's. In place of assembling a PixPop it's possible to use a NodeMCU and a level shifting transistor to enable to the 3.3v ESP8266 to drive a 5v WS8212 data line.
The NodeMCU has a 3.3 voltage regulator, enabling 5v to be fed to VIN to power the NodeMCU.
This PCB is made quite small, to make it easy to hide in a lighting display. The NodeMCU is mounted on headers, so it can be moved from board to board. To minimise the size, the level shifting transistor in mounted under the NodeMCU, as is a jumper that isolates 5V from VIN, if desired.
The PCB has mounting holes for 0.1in header pins as well as PCB mounted screw terminals.
