Portable Sega Genesis
Instead of paying someone on the internet exorbitant amounts of cash for the SEGA Nomad, why not build one yourself? yours will have more features, better hardware support, and you wont feel like you're just playing on an emulator! don't get me wrong, FPGA is fine and all, but there's nothing like knowing it's the real deal.
unlike what most people I've seen do, this will be using the model 2 revision (not the 3 or Chinese knock-offs).
this project is aimed at a beginner to intermediate skill levels. it will be a little jankey, but it will work.

------Custom flavors---------
now, yes. you can use whatever Genesis you wish, be that the mini or what not. the wiring would be a lot easier with the mini, but it is still emulation.
---------WARNING------------
i made only the holes for the controller buttons and the screen. i plan on cutting the other holes once the internal layout is finished.
the cartridge port WILL NEED to be cut out (as in the back plastic needs a hole for the cartridge to go through).
PLEASE be careful while you attempt this project. DO NOT use your console if it is the only one you have. you may regret it. it is recommended that you purchase a second unit to perform this mod on. that's what i did.
-----DISCLAIMER-----
i haven't finished a build of this project, and i'm still collecting all the components to do this. considering this is in my free time, i haven't a clue when this will be done.
