Sovol SV08 Z Belt Tensioning system
We saw a lot complaining about the Z drift / Slipping and this is a proper way to tighten equally your Z belts
This is an easy mod to install all you need is to remove your top frame and to open your Z belts remove the original spring “tensioning” system and install the new one.
You will need :
4x
Z Belt Idler
Z tensioner M3 nut.stl
the other files only 1 part of each.
Print Settings
Printed in ABS 40% infill
Layer Height 0.2
Top / Bottom 5
Walls 4
4 x M3 nuts
4x M3 x 15mm
8 x M4 heat set insert 2 for each corner in total 8 this will attaché the corner Z tensioner holder to the frame
When you are clamping the belt ends please try to put them as equal as possible and the M3x15 that will grub in to the M3 nut from the pulley holder part needs to be lose, stretch as much as possible the belts and clamp them together KEEP THE ENDS EQUAL! and after you are done with all the 4 corners you can start tightening the belts by screwing the M3x15 from the top.
you can use bigger screw but you need to pay attention that the bigger screw if is screwed until the end it will pinch the belt!
If you have questions feel free to put them in the comment section.
