ARES Supersonic Rocket (UPC Space Program)

### DESCRIPTION ( Introduce yourserlf and your project)

Dear PCBway sponsor,

My name is Arnau Reyes, and I'm currently studying Aerospace Engineering in UPC ESEIAAT, in Terrassa (a city near Barcelona). A part from studying the degree, I'm currently a member of UPC Space Program, which is an association of students that came together two years ago to create projects related to space an aviation.

I'm the coordinator of electronics from the rockets mission, the ARES. The main goal to achieve with this project is to build a supersonic rocket of two stages that can carry a payload to do experimental measurements in sonic speed.

If you take a look at my profile, you will see that we applied for a sponsorship last April, when we were testing new sensors for the next model of the rocket.

### TECHNICAL DETAILS (With project photos)

The paragraph below is what we explained to you 6 months ago, as an introduction to the project:

One of the most important parts of this project is the electronics, as it has to control all the stages of the rocket (ignition of the engines, parachute deployment, ...), measure the height and speed and it includes a gps with an antenna to communicate the position so that we can locate the rocket once it lands. We are currently developing the electronics, and we want to do some testing with the pcb before building the definitive one, so that's why we are contacting you. This pcb will include an arduino nano, a barometer and an accelerometer (to measure height and acceleration) and a micro SD to save all data obtained by those sensors. We have already launched the first model of the rocket in which we tested some systems, but they need to be corrected before launching the following one, and that's what we want to achieve with this board. I'll attach some photos below.

After making this board, we got in contact with HP, as the nosecone of the project had to be made to measure due to the aerodynamics requirements, to see if they could print it with the latest 3D printers they had, which allowed us to use a special material and perfect detail. After having a meeting with them, they offered us to print the whole rocket in 3D, and after considering it, we agreed. This opportunity allowed us to design the interior of the rocket to measure making things easier when building the rocket, and for more resistance, the rocket will be covered in fiber glass - epoxy resine component. At this moment, the whole rocket has been modeled, and it is being printed at HP headquarters in "Sant Cugat del Valles", and all the parts of the electronics have been tested thanks to the pcb you made for us.

With that being said, the final version of the pcb is finished and is ready to be manufactured.

### Words to PCBWay

After the first experience we had with you, the quality of your boards, the pricing, and overall, the whole experience, we recommended your website to all the other students that needed a pcb as well, and they decided to go for your service, which made them really happy (we have had some bad experiences with pcb manufacturers and sometimes it is hard to choose one).

We would like to take another step in our relationship with you and propose a partnership with you in this project. You would only have to sponsor us this board and we will be happy to include your logo and company information in all of our projects and promotions (this would mean the logo sticked to the rocket as you can see in the photos, and to the future t-shirts and roll-ups that will be made).

This is the main goal of the sponsorship, but if you wanted to go further, inside the UPC Space Program there exist other projects that could also benefit from your service, as we also build High Altitude Balloons and Autonomous Rover Robots. I will also attach photos from both projects and another photo from the promotional acts we make.
