Rover Robotic Arm

I am writing to seek your support for our innovative project: a modular robotic arm that is part of an exploration rover. Our project aims to develop a highly adaptable and efficient robotic arm, designed for quick attachment and detachment from the rover, facilitating seamless integration. This project comes motivated by the european rover challenge competition, in which teams are challenged to overcome multiple challenges regarding mars exploration.


The arm is controlled through custom-designed PCBs that connect via Ethernet cables and include voltage regulators, stepper motor drivers, encoders, and a microprocessor with our custom firmware. This design significantly simplifies wiring and makes each motor module compact, which enhances our ability to test and develop software efficiently.


Our robotic arm can lift objects up to 2 kg within a 2-meter radius of the rover and perform various exploration tasks. The modularity and precision of our design offer significant advantages in exploration scenarios.
