BLDC Motor Driver for Small Size League Robots

RobôCIn, a Research and Development team in autonomous robotics, founded in 2015 at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in Brazil. Our journey began with just 12 passionate robotics enthusiasts and has since grown into a robust team of 43 members, guided by 5 dedicated faculty advisors. Our mission is to push the boundaries of autonomous robotics, combining innovation with rigorous research. Bellow we have a picture of part of the team that were in the last robocup in Eindhoven, NL.

Our journey in the RoboCup Small Size League (SSL) started in 2018. Though we were newcomers in a highly competitive field, we quickly made a name for ourselves through dedication, ingenuity, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Within a few short years, we achieved remarkable success, becoming two-time world champions in SSL Division B. This year, we competed in Division A for the first time, facing the world’s top teams, and secured a 4th place finish while earning the prestigious "Most Improved Award." This recognition is a testament to our rapid progress and the quality of our work.

At RobôCIn, we are currently focused on a critical project: developing a custom PCB to control the Maxon 339285 BLDC motor, featuring an integrated 256-2048 CPT encoder. To achieve precise and efficient motor control, we are utilizing the Allegro A3930 driver, which is essential for meeting the high-performance demands of our SSL robots. This custom PCB will play a pivotal role in our robots’ ability to maneuver, strategize, and compete at the highest levels in international competitions.

Below, you can see the image of our PCB project and a render of how it fits within our robot:

Our SSL robots rely heavily on the precision and reliability of our electronic systems, and this project represents a significant step forward in enhancing our robots’ capabilities. The success of our SSL team is directly tied to the quality of our custom-designed PCBs, making this project a top priority for us.

PCBWay, your renowned expertise in PCB manufacturing aligns perfectly with our needs. As we undertake this vital project, a partnership with PCBWay would greatly contribute to the performance and reliability of our SSL robots. Your support would enable us to continue our trajectory of success and innovation in the global robotics arena.

We are excited about the potential of working with PCBWay and look forward to the possibility of your support in bringing our ambitious SSL project to life.

Thank you for your commitment to empowering makers and innovators worldwide.
