Kicker Board for RoboCup Small Size League Robots

RobôCIn, a Research and Development team in autonomous robotics, was founded in 2015 at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in Brazil. What started with 12 passionate robotics enthusiasts has evolved into a robust team of 43 members, guided by 5 dedicated faculty advisors. Our mission is to push the boundaries of autonomous robotics through a combination of innovation and rigorous research. Below is a picture of part of our team at the recent RoboCup in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Our journey in the RoboCup Small Size League (SSL) began in 2018. Despite being newcomers in a highly competitive field, we quickly distinguished ourselves through dedication, ingenuity, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Within a few short years, we became two-time world champions in SSL Division B. This year, we competed in Division A for the first time, facing the world’s top teams, and secured a 4th place finish, earning the prestigious "Most Improved Award." This recognition is a testament to our rapid progress and the quality of our work.

Currently, at RobôCIn, we are focused on a critical project: developing a custom Kicker Board for our SSL robots. This board is designed to control the kicking mechanism, which is essential for executing precise and powerful shots during matches. The board charges two capacitors and subsequently discharges them into two solenoids, enabling the robot to perform high-speed kicks with accuracy. This kicking mechanism is pivotal in our robots’ ability to maneuver, strategize, and compete at the highest levels in international competitions. Bellow we have some images of the board’s project and the solenoids.

The reliability and performance of our SSL robots heavily depend on the precision of our electronic systems, making this Kicker Board project a top priority. The success of our SSL team is directly tied to the quality of our custom-designed PCBs, and this project represents a significant step forward in enhancing our robots’ capabilities on the field.

PCBWay, your renowned expertise in PCB manufacturing aligns perfectly with our needs. As we undertake this vital project, a partnership with PCBWay would greatly enhance the performance and reliability of our SSL robots. Your support would enable us to continue our trajectory of success and innovation in the global robotics arena.

We are excited about the potential of working with PCBWay and look forward to the possibility of your support in bringing our ambitious SSL project to life.
