Chalmers Formula Student

DESCRIPTION

I am a member of the Swedish team Chalmers Formula Student. As you might know already, Formula Student is the largest engineering competition for students, challenging university teams from across the world. The product, a formula style race car, that must face rigorous dynamic events.

Chalmers Formula Student has established itself as one of the top teams in the world, cinsistently receiving high scores due to our efficiency in working with limited resources and fewer engineers than other top teams. We are the most efficient team, and we are able to compete thanks to our valuable partners.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

We designed several pcbs for our racecar:

• 4 nodes which work as ECUs and analyse and log all the data. They are connected via can

• 2 carrierboards connected to the battery cells to reduce wires

• Slave for the battery management system

• BSPD (brake system plausibility device) to check for brake system failures

• 2 motherboards to reduce wires

• TSAL (tractive system active light) to flush a light when high voltage is on

• Steering Wheel to get the data from the buttons on the steering wheel

• FuseBox to fuse all the low voltage power connections
  

• Processor where the processors of the nodes are put on (we use the same processor for all nodes)

• LEDdriver to control the brake light
