FORMULA STUDENT COMBUSTION CAR

Formula Student (FS) is the world's most established educational engineering competition.The competition aims to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering. The format of the event is such that it provides an ideal opportunity for the students to test, demonstrate and improve their capabilities to deliver a complex and integrated product in the demanding environment of a motor sports competition.

Pravega Racing is the official Combustion Formula Student team for VIT, Vellore. We participate in Formula Student events across the world in coveted international events like Formula Student Germany and national events like Formula Bharat.

We took part in Formula Student Germany 2019, where we won the ‘BASF – Best use of 3D printing’ award, placed 15th in the Business Presentation category and 15th in the Engineering Design section where we were the highest scoring Indian team in this category of the event thus far. A perfect record at Formula Bharat 2017 for the Dynamic Events, placing a standout 1st in acceleration, skid pad, and Business Presentation categories, saw us win the event outright. Last season, we also took part in Formula SAE Australasia 2018 by getting 4th in Design report, where the points tally for the design event was the highest ever scored by an Indian team at an international event so far.

Pravega Racing both as a racing team and as an engineering body has always been solely about enhancing the learning experience of the students at VIT, via the implementation of engineering fundamentals within the context of building the best formula style race car. Constantly striving for peaks in engineering advancements in the most efficient method, our hunger for innovation and ability to push the boundaries is what differentiates us from all the other Formula Student teams. Our dedication and commitment is honed towards our biggest goal of maintaining our growth rate to be one of the best Formula Student team in the world. With the next season approaching, we aim to not only maintain our podium finishes but to exponentially increase them.

Our team is planning to shift into driverless within a year and we have already started working and are good to go, PCBWAY being one of the top companies manufacturing PCB can help us achieve our goal. Our engineering teams have the ability to push the boundaries in this avenue and continue to be one of the best formula student teams in the country.
