Tractive System Active Light – Arjuna EV Gadjah Mada University
About Arjuna EV UGM:
Arjuna EV UGM is a Formula SAE from the Gadjah Mada University planning to compete in Formula SAE Japan in the 2022 competition season. Formula SAE is an international competition for university students to develop a formula racecar and improve their engineer talents and skills. Arjuna EV UGM is a team of young and talented students building an electric vehicle racecar.
TSAL Board:
TSAL Board or Tractive System Active Light is an indicator for electric vehicle car that indicate the tractive system is active in high voltage or active in low voltage or even it’s off. When the tractive system is active in the low voltage (less than 60 VDC based on FSAE rules 2022), TSAL will illuminate into green color. When the tractive system is active in the high voltage (higher than 60 VDC based on FSAE rules 2022), TSAL will illuminate in to blink__ red color with a frequency of 3 Hz. When there is no voltage in the tractive system, the TSAL will be off.
We used two regulators to change the voltage into 12 VDC, the relay to change the color from green to red, and then we used a timer circuit (with IC NE555) to make the red led blink__ with a frequency of 3 Hz.
