LifeWatch: The most importatnt clock for your Office

My name is Paul Exler, and I am a student in Vienna, Austria at HTL Rennweg in the Mechatronics department. Together with my colleagues Christoph Ballenstorfer, Maximilian Ihl, and Thomas Rödler, I am working on the development of a multifunctional clock as part of our diploma project. This clock monitors and displays essential environmental parameters.

The idea for this project arose from the fact that our classrooms lack clocks, and air quality is often a topic of discussion. Our special clock aims to solve these problems in an innovative way.

Features of the clock:

Modularity

The clock is modular, allowing users to customize it according to their needs.

Sensors can be easily added, swapped, or removed via simple plug connections.

This also helps reduce power consumption by removing unnecessary modules.

The clock can be powered either by battery or by cable.

Different Sizes

The clock will be available in various sizes for classrooms and large offices, as well as for smaller offices and home offices.

Connection to Web Server and MQTT

The clock can store data on a web server and is MQTT-enabled, making it possible to integrate it into smart home systems. External sensors can also be connected, and the data values can be displayed on the clock.

Graphical Data Analysis

The web interface of the server allows for graphical analysis of all collected data.

Customizable Display

The display can be customized and is shown on a power-saving e-paper.
