Robotics And Circuits

We are Robotics and Circuits, a Student Project Team at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Udupi, Karnataka, India. We are the Official Research and Development Team of MIT Manipal. I am Sairaj, the Team Leader of this student project.

Robotics and Circuits is a team of enthusiastic students oriented towards research in the field of robotics and the allied fields. We were established as a student technical club in 2010. We also deal with the latest trends in robotics, automation, computer vision, embedded systems and allied fields. For 8 years, RnC was a student Technical Club and then became a Student Project. In 2019, we started our voyage as a Student Project.

Our vision is to provide hands-on experience to students, in a manner that complements their course work and we encourage to innovate and explore various fields for the development of an interdisciplinary skillset.

We create projects, we work on projects throughout the year. We bring ideas and provide novel solutions to industrial and everyday problems. We organize internal and external workshops to share our technical skills with other robotics enthusiast within and outside our team. We participate in robotic competitions at technical festivals around the year. We host a event called 'Vedanth' at our College's Technical Fest, where teams from all around India participate and compete for the winner. These experiences prove vital in enhancing technical skills and team dynamics.

The projects that we have worked on till date are Talking Glove, Object Recognition Bot, Home Cleaner, Auto-Quadcopter and many more. Currently, we are participating in an International Simulation Competition and have made it to the final round in our very first attempt. Furthermore, we feel that we have found a solution for Borewell Rescue Operations and have made considerable progress towards it as well.

Our long term plan involves building Rescue Robots and participating in competitions on the same. Moreover, our field of research has been identified as 'Home Automation' where we intend to solve real world problems and bring to life easy to use solutions. We use CAD software for simulations, implementing prototype designs for different parts of robots and to later synthesis them through 3D printers. Furthermore, we work on custom robots and PCB design process combines component placement and routing to define electrical connectivity on a manufactured circuit board which helps us assemble a custom circuit well calibrated for our robot.
