Solar Boat Twente

Solar Boat Twente is an initiative of a group of 24 passionate students from the University of Twente and Saxion University of applied sciences, who are aiming to make a positive impact on society through our project.

We design and build an efficient sun powered electric boat, with which we take part in the Monaco Energy Challenge. By cooperating with partners, we can stimulate companies to innovate themselves. In addition we try to create an as large as possible network to create awareness of the challenge, but also the possibilities in the maritime sector.

The boat itself is custom developed by ourselves. From everything from the hull, struts and foils to the small support systems that measure tilt and roll. For this custom PCB's and strong metal parts are very important. The team would therefore greatly benefit from support from PCBWay since PCBway is big in the market for custom CNC parts and specific control boards.

When all these complicated systems are working together, the boat is able to 'fly' and therefore drastically reduce its own drag, which allows for better performance in endurance racing where efficiency is everything.

Because of our close affiliation with the technical University of Twente, PCBWay could greatly benefit from partnering with us. From financial support to specific technical developments, this collaboration would give PCBWay acces to cutting edge research, innovative engineering solutions and highly skilled engineering students.

By working with us, PCBWay can enhance its brand visibility with our large community of technical companies and students while contributing to a sustainable forward thinking technical project. Our team's use of PCBWay products in a high visibility competition provides great exposure on an International stage.
