UniTS Racing Team

UniTs Racing Team is the official racing team representing the University of Trieste in the university competition «Formula SAE Italy»

Our team was born on the historic track of the Trieste-Opicina hill climb race, where Enzo Ferrari achieved the first victory for Scuderia Ferrari.

Today, the team consists of more than 80 members, all from various fields of study but united by a common passion for university racing and the world of motorsport.

The members are divided into different departments: aerodynamics, chassis and structure, ePowertrain, electronics, marketing, business plan, and sponsorship; allowing everyone to do what they enjoy and perform at their best!

This project began in 2019, and the team immediately faced several challenges.

It was only in 2021 that we made our first official appearance in the Formula SAE Italy competition in class 3, achieving a fourth place in the business event, third place in the cost event, second place in the design event, and fourth place in the overall standings.

This allowed us to look to the future with more ambition, especially as we moved to the 1E category in 2022. 2023 helped us establish ourselves as a university team, thanks to our participation in events like the International Maker Faire in Rome and the invaluable support of our sponsors who always stand by us.

In September 2023, the team changed team leaders, projecting us to face new challenges with the awareness of following the right path.

In September 2024, we will once again showcase our teamwork in the competition and compete with other major university teams.

This 30 second video is the official pitch video of the last year as an obligation to participate in the Formula Sae competition, but we are currently working on this year's one.

Our project will use 9 different cards, which will have the task of dealing with:

- Control of the car's power delivery

- Battery pack safety (master and slave) 

- Lights and sounds

- Control unit

The team would greatly benefit from the support of PCBWay.

As a team dedicated to designing and building a race car for international competitions, we face challenges in sourcing and manufacturing parts within our budget and timeline.

PCBWay's support would enable us to develop more efficient and effective technology for our race car and inspire the next generation of technicians who will work on the project in the future.
