University of Canterbury Motorsport Formula SAE

We are a team of undergraduate electrical and mechanical engineers from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand that design, build and develop a 4WD electric formula style race car that competes in the Australian Formula SAE competition annually.

Some of our recent achievements include:

•First electric vehicle to win a dynamic event in the Australasian FSAE competition

•First New Zealand-built four-wheel-drive electric race car

•First New Zealand team to compete in an international Motorsport event in an electric car.

We currently sit 25th in the world for Electric FormulaSAE Vehicles after our first year as an electric team.

We have developed all the electrical systems for our car in house, this includes the precharge, discharge, safety circuit and vehicle control unit for our car. This requires a huge amount of design and therefore also a large number of PCB prototypes. In New Zealand PCB prototyping is extremely expensive and there is only 1 primary manufacturer. Therefore sponsorship from PCBWay to our team would be extremely beneficial to both parties as there are a number of teams and groups in New Zealand looking for affordable PCB manufacturing.
