University of Western Australia Formula Student Team

The UWA Motorsport Team is a dedicated, student-led organisation that annually aims to design, build and test an electric formula-style vehicle for the Formula SAE competition. FSAE is the largest student engineering design competition in the world, consisting of over 500 teams globally. UWA Motorsport annually competes in the Australasian competition hosted at Calder Park in Melbourne each December.

Running on a tight 12 month build cycle, the 85 multidisciplinary students that make up the UWA Motorsport Team are required to learn and practice industry level skills in order to perform at the highest level of the FSAE competition. These include high-level project management and leadership techniques for the fast-tracked project, comprehensive engineering and design skills, data analysis techniques, finance and accounting, and marketing.
