8 Channel Relay Driver
This PCB was designed for actuating the solenoids of the single and double acting pneumatic pistons .This circuit as basic components in it... Transistors(BC 547),LED, Resistor , SPDT Relay, FRC and Screw Terminal .The relay coil is driven by 12V DC supply and the input power for the solenoid that has to be switched is 24V DC. This circuit has 8 channels. So that one can drive 8 different double acting pistons or 16 single acting pistons. This circuit can also be used for other purposes like Home Automation, where one can control the tubelights, Fan and other accessories. The working of the circuit is quite simple. The microcontroller gives the input to the base terminal of the transistor. The transistor acts as a switch and controls the output i.e. the coil of the Relay. The SPDT relay works on this principle, when the coil gets magnetized the NC(Normally Closed) contact releases and the power is available at NO (Normally Open) terminal. Therefore the solenoids switches accordingly. Once the base signal is removed the relay coil gets demagnetized and the contact is made with the NC terminal. Firstly I tested this circuit on a breadboard and ensured that no flaw is there .Later I started designing the PCB on Altium Software . This was my first PCB on Altium Designer .I learnt about the 3D model thing which looked so cool and beneficial while placing the components This PCB consists of 8 SPDT Relays, 8 LEDs, 8 Resistors of 1k value,8 BC 547 Transistor,8 1n4007 diode ,FRC Box header and Screw Terminals. It was a great experience for me while designing the PCB, learning the software ,soldering the components and most important testing of the PCB.
